Jeffrey Epstein - A Conflicting Suicide Narrative

At the least, we should know by now that you cannot trust the mainstream media to tell you the truth about anything.

The big story in the mainstream media right now is the apparent suicide of Jeffrey Epstein, the multi-millionaire Financier accused of operating a sex trafficking ring, wherein he is said to have abused dozens of young girls.

Source: CNN

ABC 7 news reported that emergency responders answered a 9-11 call at 6:40am at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan New York, where Epstein was being held. In the ABC report it was stated that Epstein “hanged himself.”

What is odd about this narrative is that in a CNN report, dated July 26, 2019, Epstein was apparently found injured in his cell. The information was said to have come from

“a law enforcement source and a source familiar with the incident”.

That same law enforcement source further stated,

It is not clear to jail officials if the injuries, incurred Tuesday, were self-inflicted or the result of an assault”.

The CNN story mentioned that Epstein told authorities that he was beaten up and called a child predator. However, another source stated that Epstein had been placed on a suicide watch and that his injuries were not serious. However, the report further stated:

“A source who stood several feet away from Epstein on Thursday said he has no cuts or bruises on his face and didn't visibly appear injured. The source said it was difficult to notice whether Epstein had any markings on his neck because the jumpsuit he wore covered part of his neck.”

So, according to a somewhat contradictory narrative by CNN:

Law enforcement sources stated that Epstein was found injured in his cell with marks around his neck. Law enforcement sources say it is uncertain if the injuries were self-inflicted, but Epstein told authorities that he was attacked. The law enforcement source further stated that his injuries did not appear serious and he was placed on suicide watch. However, another source stated that there did not appear to be any visible injuries on Epstein.

Neither the law enforcement source nor the other source for the CNN report is identified and the Federal Bureau of Prisons declined to comment on the matter, due to “privacy and security concerns”.

If the Federal Bureau of Prisons refused to comment on the matter out of privacy and security concerns, will there be an investigation to identify exactly who spoke to CNN? Conflicting details emanating from within law enforcement on this matter is a far bigger threat to privacy and security than a refusal by the Bureau to make an official statement.

On the other hand, ABC 7 News tossed more fuel on the fire. In a report dated July 25, 2019, the same date as the CNN press release, it states:

NEW YORK -- Billionaire financier and accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein was found earlier this week unresponsive in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan in what appears to be a possible suicide attempt, according to a law enforcement official briefed on the situation.”

ABC News 7 goes on to refute CNN’s statement of ‘no comment’ by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, by stating in their report that

“the Bureau of Prisons is investigating the episode as a possible suicide attempt by the 66-year-old Epstein…,”

The ABC 7 report further stated that Epstein was on a suicide watch. Both ABC7 News and CNN claim law enforcement as their respective sources. However, in a report by the New York Times, dated August 10, 2019, it states:

“Mr. Epstein was housed in a special unit with extra security, but he was not under suicide watch, according to a prison official.”

An NBC News report dated, August 10, 2019, stated that 2 sources told them that Epstein was on suicide watch.

According to the Jerusalem Post, in their report dated, August 10, 2019, it stated that Epstein was not on a suicide watch, which was according to sources who relayed that information to Reuters news agency. How is it that prison/law enforcement officials with access to correct information are passing off conflicting information to the media?

It is hardly difficult to determine whether there was an order to put Epstein on a suicide watch. Prison officials know that. So why are major news outlets going back and forth and why haven’t higher authorities stepped in to confirm if he was or not? Is this a really bad case of oversight or intentional obfuscation of this one pivotal fact?

A high-profile suspect like Epstein would have been stripped of all possible resources that would assist him in hanging himself. He would have been monitored closely around the clock. So why confuse this matter in the public domain? Was it carelessness by prison guards who lapsed in their duties? If he was on a suicide watch, then he already tried to kill himself. He would have been under a microscope.

Or could it have been something else – something like a treasure trove of information that absolutely could not be allowed to potentially come out in a trial? Epstein was rich, powerful and highly connected to some very powerful celebrities and politicians, some of whom may have already been under suspicion for years.

It is foolhardy for anyone to believe Epstein ran a sex ring by himself for his own pleasure. Undoubtedly, he had clients. Powerful clients. According to Epstein, US President Donald Trump and former US President Bill Clinton are (were) his friends. The sexual exploits of these two alone are widely reported and well known.

This opens the door to ask the right questions in the events leading up to Epstein’s death. (if even he is truly dead) A good reporter would NEVER leave the right questions unanswered; and it is always the relevant small questions that need to be answered first  – such as why is it that every news outlet cited for this article only mentions that Epstein hanged himself - but not one outlet mentions what he used to hang himself with?

If Epstein was under a suicide watch, you better believe the answer to that question is critical to unraveling this mystery, which, under the circumstances, was not entirely unanticipated.
