Injured Cyclist Flown Out for Treatment

A motorcyclist injured in a crash was flown overseas by air ambulance for treatment. The 22-year-old man collided with a taxi on Harrington Sound Road, near the junction of Town Hill Road, Smith’s, at about 3.30am yesterday. His male pillion passenger, 21, who suffered a leg injury, was in a stable condition on a general ward at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital today. A 48-year-old female tourist who suffered head and leg injuries after crashing her scooter yesterday was also recovering at the hospital.

The woman crashed on South Road, Southampton, near the Fairmont Southampton, after going on to a dirt path and back on to the main road. Witnesses should call police on 247-1788 or 295-0011.
